After my 10th birthday my grandmother asked if I wanted to learn how to show dogs. I said it was something I would be willing to try and from the first show I attended I was in love with showing. Over the last ten years I have shown our Alaskan Malamutes and American eskimos, plus a variety of other breeds. I was able to show our male special to multiple Best in Specialty Shows, Multiple group placements, and was able to get him into the top twenty multiple years all before my 18th birthday. As a junior handler I loved the competition of going up against other handlers knowing I was being judged on my skills. Together, Watson and I, were able to win many Best Junior handler awards at regular shows, specialties, and nationals. In 2018 we were able to go to New York and attend the Westminster Kennel Club show and walked away with select dog in our breed. I love showing a variety of breeds and have had the pleasure to be able to work with multiple handlers and become friends with a lot of people in the dog world. In future years I plan to continue my showing career and establish a breeding program that helps keep my breed the amazing working dog it has always been. I also plan on eventually getting my judging license and trying to become knowledgeable in as many breeds as I can. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to help judge at this event and to get my hands on the great examples of the breed!
