2021 MCOA National Specialty

Jim Brown

Jim obtained his first purebred dog, a Saint Bernard, while stationed in Italy in 1972.  He began exhibiting in 1974.  He served as president of the Saint Bernard Club of the Finger Lakes for many years and has served as an Eastern Governor of the Saint Bernard Club of America.  He held many positions in the all breed kennel clubs of Genesee Valley and Kanadasaga.  Presently he is the Executive Director of the Charitable Foundation of the SBCA.

He and his wife, Karen, lived in Penfield, a suburb of Rochester, NY and recently moved full time into the home they built in 2014 in Eden, Utah.  His career as an attorney began as an Assistant  District Attorney in 1974, a position he held for 10 years before entering private practice, where he spent nearly 30 years as a litigation specialist, retiring in 2010.  An avid skier, Jim spent many years as an instructor.  Skiing was the reason for their move to Utah.

Jim was first approved to judge Saints and Junior Showmanship in 1991.  His concern for children led to his becoming a member of the Board of Directors of the Ogden Nature Center where he presently serves as vice-chair.

The honor of judging the Mastiff Tournament of Champions is greatly appreciated.
