Judge Biography - Doreen Dysert
My name is Doreen Dysert and I am “Marcy Mountain Mastiffs”!
I am very honored and excited to be part of the judging panel for the 2020 Breeder’s Cup Competition. I am looking forward to seeing and putting my hand on many wonderful dogs. My love for dogs started young as my father raised hunting dogs, which allowed me to train dogs and appreciate their qualities and abilities. My passion for Mastiffs started in 1999 when my husband Larry and I acquired our first Mastiff, CH Marcy Mtn’s Lighting Strikes Iron CD, TDI, CGC. I fell head over heels in love with the breed. We lived in Rochester NY at the time, which is where Marcy Mountain Mastiffs started.
I have been a MCOA member since 2000 and have attended every MCOA National since, missing only one due to puppies. I was also active as the MCOA Seizure Disorder Chair for many years. In 2000, my husband and I started Western New York English Mastiff Club acting in different capacities, President, Vice President and Secretary. At that time, I also belonged to Genesee Valley Kennel Club. We moved to Washington in 2006; and I became one of a small group of individuals that originally founded the Cascade English Mastiff Club. I served as Secretary for 5 years and I was Show Chair for our regional specialties several times. I was also the Show Chair for the 2010 Mastiff Club of America National Specialty. I am now presently a member of the Mount Rainer Working Dog Club and I have been assisting and helping in their show preparations since becoming a member.
I show my dogs in conformation and obedience and have bred many Champions and titled many in Obedience and Rally. As an Breeder/Owner/Handler, my mastiffs have been fortunate to have won numerous AKC Best of Breeds, MCOA Grand Veteran, MCOA Best Puppy 4-6 Month, MCOA Best Bred By and MCOA Hall of Fames. I was honored to have one of my puppies win “MCOA Grand Futurity” at the 2019 National. This was my third time winning, and as such won the Grand Futurity Challenge for the “First Time” in MCOA history!
Thank you for the opportunity to judge and best of luck to all of the exhibitors!
